What is Commission Connection?

Commission Connection is a privately funded corporation based in Greenville, SC and has served Real Estate Professionals Nationwide since 1997. Commission Connection is owned and operated by active real estate professionals.

As a real estate professional, it is understood projecting monthly expenses is far easier than projecting monthly income. To remain successful, money must always be available when your business needs it. Our service is designed specifically to assist agents and brokers with cash flow needs when business expenses arise prior to the settlement and the payment of a commission. In months where expenses outweigh commission income, the service enables agents and brokers to accelerate the payment of commissions under contract to cover the expenses.

What is factoring?  How does it apply to real estate commissions?

Factoring is not a loan; it is a specially designed financial service used by businesses large and small to manage their cash flow. It is the buying and selling of account receivables that are due to mature in the near future. The business selling the account receivable receives money from the business buying the account. When the account receivable matures, the buyer of the account receivable is then paid.

In the real estate profession, Agents and Brokers are employed as subcontractors of a brokerage. Thus operating as an independent business and generating account receivables (pending commission payments). These account receivables typically mature in 15 to 90 days. If an agent or broker needs money to cover expenses now, they can utilize Commission Connection’s service to convert their pending commission payments into money.

The service is used to better manage commission income fluctuations associated with selling new construction and working in seasonal markets. Money received is used for operating expenses such as continuing education, referral generation, marketing costs, and taxes. The fee for the service is a small percentage of the commission and is tax deductible if used for business expenses. Its design gives real estate professionals the financial freedom and control most sought when initially choosing a career in real estate.
